Stucture

We have decided to try and relate to both the natural environment of what was in Brisbane and man made stucture of the bridge to try and link the two. We decided to do this by creating a relationship between the bridges structural elements and the basic form of a tree.

Site Analysis

To better understand the environment a site analysis session was held to help come up with some ideas.

Urban Nature

After deciding that our concept needs to relate to nature more, We had a development session again looking into the urban environment, the direction of this session was based on the lecture where a chess board was out lined and pulled away. As there is alot of trees near the side and we want to somehow relate to nature and the very urban and man made environment that the bridge creates we decided to experiment with this.

Physical model

The group now made a physical model to try and better visualise the direction of the development to date.

Urban context developement session

These sketches are the result of our experiment into the urban context and trying to find a common relationship of the environment that surrounds our site and link it to our current theme of distortion. The sketches are a result of that session. Until now our theme has been based on distortion however after discussing this with the tutor we have decided to take a direction down the path of the urban environment and find a common link.
